Yes that is true, to an extent. If you shave them they will grow in thicker, darker and possibly harder. But depending on you ethnic background you may not need to shave. You say you grew up in Scotland, but are you part French? Many French women dont need to shave their legs because they have little hair.

If you shave them once this will not really cause you to have hairer legs. It is the thickness of the blunt ended hair that makes it look thicker. It will bristle for awhile if you are 'growing them back'. A bit like a mans hair on his face. If you want hair free legs you maybe better off having them waxed or sugared. Sugared is less painful and much kinder to the skin. When the hair starts to grow back it does so as a thin 'pointed' hair as it is growing from the root end and so will look light not dark haired think bristle like shaved hair. Also you only need them doing every 4-6 weeks.

You have never had to shave them because you are very lucky. :] The hair on my legs is very light in color so I shave very rarely...I haven't had the problem yet of the hair growing in thicker or darker, but I know that this does happen. My advice would be if you don't need to shave them, then don't worry about it, but if you do then do it only when necessary. â¥

In the most cases is a genetical feature: you get born with hair or not. And yes. It's true. If you already got hair and you're shaving it, it will grow bigger and stiffer...

I'm so happy i don't need to shave my legs. I knew the girl who had to shave her legs every other day or sometimes everyday.
Don't you worry, that's is one headache less in your life.

I do not have much hair on my legs either.
My children tease me because I may have 20 hairs on each leg.
I shave because when I wear pantyhose my legs itch if I don't shave.

Yeah, it is. That's why you'll never ever see a shaved yeti - they know it's bad news.

I think.
Just don't shave if your legs are hairless.
Trust me.
It WILL grow back thicker. x-x
