So why can't you just phone them and ask them for the address or is there something going on that you haven't told us about?
Just fishing for the number won't get you anywhere without proper authority and you obviously haven't got that otherwise you wouldn't be on here asking about it!!!!!!!!!

If you're in the UK you will not be able to get the full postal address from the telephone number alone. It is illegal tor telephony companies to disclose this information to anyone other than the owner of the number. Nor will directory enquiries be of any help. They should only give numbers for a given name and address, then only if it's not ex-directory.
Either a) phone the number and ask, or b) if it's a nuisance caller you could pass the number to the police. They do have access.

If you have a name and can identify the town from the area code (trivial in the UK) you can then do a directory enquiry on the name for the town and match up with the number to get the address. Assumes person is not ex-directory. You could alternatively do a electoral roll search for the town and person and get an address that way. If you know someone who works for a telephone company they can get this info from the number alone. For directory search or elector roll search in the UK try http://www.b4usearch.com/

I think the only way is to phone the number.
If you have a surname look in a phone book.
To narrow it down to an area look in the phone book for the area code. Find the name of some of the towns that use that area code. Then just look through phone numbers of businesses in the town and you might be able to narrow it down to a particular area.
How did you get the phone number in the first place? Ask whoever you got it from.

I got lucky and did a websearch... the guy's landlady was listed on some festival website with that number, so I emailed her and asked for her correspondence address to send festival promotion details.
Found the guy and kicked his ***.
