We as humans NEED the following to survive:
Air
Water
Food
Clothing
Shelter
What any parent can do is to provide food water, clothing, shelter, medical attention....this is the basic so that their offspring can survive into adulthood.
After that, we as humans ask what is our purpose?
We are here to do two things:
Have a wonderful time, because this humans experience is supposed to be a playground for the soul. We can enjoy things as simple as a blue sky, clouds, the wonders of nature all around us...the sounds, tastes, visuals, textures fragrances. By taking in the simple and that which we often take for granted, and finding beauty in them we experience much joy and abundance.
The other purpose for living is to make a difference that we existed. To be contributory, to love, to make this a better place than we found it.
It really is that simple. We will then Love a healthy, good and happy life.
It is not about cars, boats, money, stock options, etc. Money is a barter, that's all. If we decide to walk, rather than take a limo we still get to our destination.

Well he had a really successful postseason. A major reason why his value skyrocketed. Also the pistons were desperate and so they signed Gordon. I agree with you. A one dimensional scorer who will eat up salary cap space. He's also very streaky. Not worth 11 million. The pistons now have 1/4th of their cap space devoted to two shooting guards lol that's a lot 12 million in Hamilton and 11 million in Gordon. This free agency reeks of desperation. I however think that the Bulls will be fine because a healthy Luol Deng will replace what Gordon provided. I also heard Gordon's agent asking for a blind counterbid by the Bulls in offer to the 5 year 55 million dollar deal. Basically he was offered a 5 year 54 million dollar team by the Bulls last year and rejected it lol. The pistons are a rebuilding team while the Bulls will be making playoff runs.

Health, happiness, and virtuous (good) life are better with less dependence on money.. Money in purse/pocket is okay, but the problem is , more than often , it gets into our head !
Health depends on good environment and good food... does not cost much money.
Happiness is our inner affair, so also is virtuousness !
If we firmly decide our way of being, and get stabilised in it, then out of such stability, only good will be done by us... and with such doings, we will get the best most often... !
Instead, people reverse the order.... to have the best things in life (money the most needed), the do something.. and to do it well, they try to be in some way.... this generates resistance within oneself, and un-necessary struggle !

It seems I don't know coz one time I asked on here about taking my daughter jogging with me, after making it clear we don't have a lot of money to join stuff to help her maintain good health, and someone snidely answered I should enroll her in a gymnastics class. That costs money.... So I guess just doing whatever you can that's good for you, that costs nothing is "not good enough" to most people, coz anything they suggest to do will cost money. So those people will never be happy.
If I had the ability to live without any money at all, I'd be happy just to share time with family--meaningful, stress free time. And that would be enough. The rest would come from that.

Love, Laughter, Good Friends, Satisfying Work, Exercise you enjoy. None of these rely on money. If you love and are loved you will have the most important part of a Good, Healthy, Happy life. If you can laugh at trouble and at yourself when you get to full of yourself, you will have much of the rest needed.

Target of life = Survive
Means of Survival = Intelligence gathered through our senses and executing our common sense.
Happiness also required = obtained by soothing the same senses as they are put to work.
This is the beauty of life. We know it but we just take it for granted. Next time when you hold lemon enjoy its fresh smell, treat your feet in warm soap water, listen to that lively music you like , sing that song, and just hold your darling close to you.
Happiness is in the simplest of things - getting up inthe morning and doing your morning exercise just around bed, having your tea and toast, talking about the new technology, going to work, coming back and talking about your day.
Rich or poor we do the same things but in different environment.
The happy people do it with smile and peace.
The stupid people do it as it is a burden.
Choice is yours.

Realizing that happiness comes from within is the healthiest thing you could ever do. Then, to embrace this knowledge, makes it a good life, and to live according to it makes it a happy life.

Being true to yourself.
Most of the problems facing us are self inflicted wounds.
Being true to yourself almost eliminates stress, lowers blood pressure and gives you the type of life you want, therefore a good life at least in your eyes.

For me, I found only ONE essential in life...PEACE..
If you have peace in your life first then the rest will follow..health, happiness, even wealth if you want it...
I have my world of peace which is simple...surrounding yourself with the things you love the most..eg..gardening, painting, writing, my little dog, walking, touring etc. etc. I call it my own little peace bubble, and I live within its boundaries and become wealthy in the knowledge I am not hurting anyone or anything...Hope you find your unique bit of peace too.....good luck
