Just ask her and her family one thing and I am dead sure she will tear her veil into pieces.
Ask her to either remove her veil or surrender UK Immigration.
You know better what she will do?
At first these confused and stupid Muslims begged visa officer for a visa and when they get it by hook or crook, they start behaving like stupid. Just ask them if they want to apply their own Shariat , go back to their own countries and apply their stupid laws there.
WHY UK?
If they want to live in UK they have to live according to UK law. Even if law asked to stay nude they have to stay nude.

I wonder who interviewed this woman, as I'm astonished that things have come this far. OK, I understand her religious rights, and the rights of the C of E school and it's pupils. Surely a position in a Muslim school would have been better. We need to look at the criteria that the school used when they employed her. Did they ask her the correct questions, if so, did this woman break the conditions of her employment? We will continue to waste time and money if we don't sort these issues out before taking people on. We may be right to take people on with different ideas and beliefs, but where do we draw the line? Sorry for giving you more questions than answers.

This is not a religious matter but it is being turned into one. As far as I have read the veil impacted on her ability to teach properly. In this matter we should be concerned with the effectiveness or not of of her ability to teach the children and for them to learn. If a teacher spoke badly without a veil the same principles apply. Teachers are professionals and should always be concerned with their personal effectiveness. Nothing else matters.

she is not a teacher, she is an assistant, not the same thing although you may believe so.
she only refused in front of male collegues, not male pupils.
any child in that school who is deaf or of limited hearing ability would have great problems in communicating with her, the whole point of this persons action as far as i am able to determine is to yet again highlight the case to bring it to the attention of her peers.
it is not mandatory for anyone to be veiled in the islamic religion
it is of personal choice, so she cannot hope to win her case ,which is spurios at best, on the grounds of religious intolerance.
she is testing the local authorities resolve,it is a multicultural city, they may placate her, but i hope the non muslims in that community take up the baton and run with it, these minor cases are the thin end of a very thick wedge, i am not a racist by any stretch of the imagination, if i was to teach in my native costume how would my children react, or my collegues to a nudist teaching them. regards LF

This is a product of weak politicians.
Multiculturalism.
Pandering to minorities.
All of these people are experts on manipulating the system made to protect people and to make money from it.
This was probably the plan from the beginning, she created the problem then used the system to get 20 years salary as compensation, assisted by a group of Muslim human rights lawyers
Clever woman.

I AGREE WITH A LOT THAT IS SAID HERE BUT I THINK THIS VEIL THING IS GETTING REALLY OUT OF HAND AND ILL TELL YOU WHY.
WHEN YOU EMMIGRATE FROM YOUR COUNTRY YOU GIVE UP YOUR RIGHTS TO THAT COUNTRY AND YOUR NEW ALLEGIANCE SHOULD BE WITH YOUR ADOPTED COUNTRY LOCK STOCK AND BARREL.YOU ABIDE BY THEIR WAY OF LIFE AND THEIR LEGAL SYSTEM AND YOU CANNOT CHANGE THEIR WAY OF LIFE TO SUIT YOU YOU HAVE TO CHANGE.
NOW THE UK HAS WELCOMED THESE PEOPLE IN TO THE COUNTRY BUT THEY DONT WANT TO CHANGE THEY WANT THEIR OWN SCHOOLS OWN MOSQUES AND OWN DRESS AND THE UK CAN GO SPIN .
THEY HAVE A BETTER FREEDOM IN THE UK THAN THEIR OLD COUNTRY AND YET THEY TRY TO TAKE AWAY THE FREEDOM OF THE NATIVE ENGLISHMAN BY TRYING TO WITH HOLD OUR IDENTITY WE HAVE A ANCESTRY THAT GOES BACK TO THE ANGLO SAXONS AND I FOR ONE AM PROUD TO BE AN ENGLISHMAN. BUT I LIVE IN SPAIN AND THE ABOVE APPLYS TO ME AS WELL THEIR IS THINGS THE SPANISH DO THAT I FIND WEIRD BUT ITS THEIR COUNTRY AND ME AND MY FAMILY ARE GUESTS AND WE ABIDE QUIETLY THEIR LAWS TO THE LETTER. AND THAT'S WHAT THESE PEOPLE SHOULD DO IN THE UK IF NOT GO BACK TO THE COUNTRY YOU CAME FROM OR DO WHAT THE LAW REQUIRES WITHOUT MOANING.

I heard on NPR that she was not veiled at her initial job interview, if your going to pi$$ and moan about being persecuted the least you could do is be up front about who you are from the git-go. I'm not so hard nosed that I can't tolerate people who are different, but pulling the persecution card out after the fact is lame...

Because that's the system we have - if you feel you have been unfairly dismissed you can have take it to a tribunal for a decision to be made.
Just because you think she's wrong does not automatically make it so.

I am just glad my kids are grown up and left school years ago.
The way schools are these days I would have pulled them out and taught them myself.
I am just lucky we are both highly educated and qualified enough to do that if the need had arisen.
