Human value is far more valued than religion in today's context of the world. Religion should be treated like a long high way and on top the human values travel safe until the end of the journey.

Whether we like it or not the dominant religion in any particular culture does have prominence over human values. the word culture comes from the ancient greek word 'Kultos' meaning religion.

our laws, family values, and social norms are all based in our religion. think of the ten commandments or the seven deadly sins in christianity and the laws and social attitudes to them in the west. The human values evolve from the dominant religion - they are one and the same.

Human values. Religion serves those who fear the future, or need answers to questions that we don't have answers for(why are we here, for instance).

If you trace the history of humankind back you find that at all times there was some sort of practiced "religion", however these were a reaction to events out of their control. Even earth based religions are based on the recognition of the natural connection of the human animal to the earth that supports it. The modern religions that saturate our daily lives are the progressive result of man's arrogance, inability to learn from his mistakes and overwhelming need to set standards for everyone else but not actually meet them himself.

If we actually valued the human and concentrated on provided the basic human needs, food and water, to every single human on earth, we could level the playing field and you might actually have a human future.

Recently my daughter was ask to take a sex education class at school. If she refused the class she would lose a grade level. They gave us another option after explaining that as a parent I felt that was my job and they should be teaching the 3R's.I was to help her give her report on this subject. When they asked what books I would be using I told them the Bible. They all laughed as we left the school that day,and told us we wouldn't find all the information we needed in the Bible. My daughter received a B+ on her report. The thing I am getting at her is that the Christian Bible points to more values than us humans could ever come up with.

Because religion has out-lived it's usefulness and is now a major threat to the survival of humanity, it should be totally marginalized. A little bit of Religion is like a little bit of syphilis, unless eradicated, it always gets worse.
