The youth you speak so rudely of get it from adults. We have to learn it from someone!

I think the problem first lies within the home before the children start school. Do parents sit down and read with their children or teach them to write their name before they enter kindergarten anymore? There are many how to workbooks (ex. numbers, colors, animals, etc.) one can buy at the drug store that can be used at home. Home should be where the head-start program begins. Once in school, the teachers are too busy enforcing behavior problems and this time is taking away from teaching and is not fair to those who want to learn. I think we should get back to the big 3s, reading, writing and arithmetic. All other subjects can be included, but focus should be on these. When we were in school the pace for learning was not as fast nor was there an information highway. Kids today have much more to learn and at a faster rate in a short amount of time. I see a lot more stress than when I went to school. I'd put more pressure on the parents, who should put more pressure on the school administrators. Show our tax dollars at work. It can be turned around if people cared.

I am a high school teacher, and looking at students as a whole, I do not agree with that. There are a few who fit that description, but they are the minority. The majority of my students are hard workers, polite, etc. (Perhaps the fact I teach in a small, rural school district has something to do with this...) Some like to whine, but they still do what is expected of them. It's all relative, though. If you're comparing them to generations where kids were working in factories at 12, fighting in wars at 16, etc., of course these kids can't compare.

No, they are not as lazy as we were once. However we had other purposes in our life. Today, most of the youth have only one purpose, i.e to make money and spend it so they are not interested in doing work which does not bring them more cash. It is for elder generation to orient the youth towards social issues and the development of a society for which everyone has to struggle.

Not all youth's are lazy,
Maybe they only think that nobody needs them that's why they thought that they are useless,
If we just let them know that they mean everything,
I'm sure they will not be lazy, like we thought,..
Is my grammar correct?

Some are like that and some are not. Generalizations like this one are too broad to be considered truthful.
