50% Isopropyl Alcohol
50% Water
This is the Manufacturers recommended way of cleaning a Laptop or LCD screen.
Use a very Soft cloth. Lightly dampen with the 50/50 mixture. Lightly wipe the screen. The solution will almost instantly dry as your are wiping. If it does not completly dry, use DRY very soft cloth and lightly wipe excess off.
Any other methods will scratch and or harm your screen GUARANTEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The LCD Cleaning Solution you can buy in stores is made up of exactly the same formula above.

Micro-fiber cloth similar to the ones you use to clean sunglasses with and have it only slightly moist. Above all else, wipe very lightly because the LCD is made up of tiny liquid crystal cells and you can damage it by pressing too hard. Also, never never let any debris or moisture get to the edge of the screen because it would be near impossible to remove if it gets under the top layer of the LCD and it could affect performance. Use a Q-tip if the dust/dirt at the edges really peeve you.

A soft clean cloth (borrow a duster from the cleaning cupboard), a wax free commercial glass or multi surface cleaner (spray on) and be careful not to press too hard as you may damage the screen.

Clean the display with a soft, clean cloth and commercial window cleaner
that does not contain wax or abrasives. Apply the cleaner to the cloth; then
stroke the cloth across the display in one direction, moving from the top of
the display to the bottom. If the display contains grease or some other
contaminant, use isopropyl alcohol instead of commercial window cleaner

Vinegar, on a soft towel..it has enough acid in it to cut the buildup, and not hurt the screen.
