Firstly, let me just state I believe in principle there is no free will as such. As we grow and integrate into a society and culture we generally fall into a will established by society, "Society's Will" if you want to put it that way. However, what if there was no "Society's Will?".

Ok here's an example. You raise a young boy from birth until he is, say, 10 years old. And then for 10 years of his life he is placed into solitary confinement until age 20, now obviously he will have some activities in his room to keep him from going crazy ya know television, musical instruments, videogames, movies, whatever.. Now, we take a send child, and they are placed in confinement with the exact same activities set before them for their 10 years alone. The question is, since there is no "Society's Will" anymore to govern what is right and wrong in these people's minds, do they branch of and create their own unique will, with its various rules and conditions OR is there a sort of underlying..

rule that is found in all human minds, regardless of if someone is raised without a "Society's Will" to determine actions that are right or wrong. Types of rules and boundaries that all human minds have equal. You opinions or evidence to show an example of this would be helpful, thank you..

Your theory is fairly sound. We never have totally free "free will" becuase we have to continually modify our behaviour in order to be a part of a society. Indeed those who do excercise totaly free will often be deemed to be criminal (theives, etc.) and are shunned by society as a whole.

There is also a degree of freedom in the social will, but that is controlled by the framework of laws dictated by the state.

And then factor in the mess of religion.

So, no, our will is not copletely free.

according to my philosophy class, we are still free..
those rules would not have been made if we were not free.
consider this, why wre these rules made? how did people know that there must lbe imitations to behavior..therfore people have already crossed the threshold which is why it has been concluded that there must be behaviors to be inhibited

Yes, the term free will is flawed . But limited will sounds lame. It seems in life..there is a price to be paid....lol
