The richest person on Earth is William Gates III. Queen Elizabeth II of England doesn't own all her jewelry, castles, etc. herself so there it a limit to what she can sell.

She doesn't need to sell her assets. The secret of being rich is to hang on to certain material assets (particularly land!) so that it appreciates in value. Most rich people have their assets in things other than cash!

In fact, a great deal of what the Queen appears to own is in fact owned by the Crown, as it is property owned by the Sovereign of the United Kingdom "in right of the Crown" - with origins dating back almost 1000 years. This means that she couldn't sell it anyway, as it is not hers to sell.

No. She might be the richest lady, but she wouldn't be the richest person. Check the Guiness Book of World Records.

No, they may not have a lot of monetary compensation compared to other royals or rich people but they have a lot wealth and power over 16 territories and providences besides their beloved UK, and I think those two things alone out way the 1-10 Billion Dollars or Pounds they have.

yes she would be, but they are not hers personally to sell. They are hers to use but truly they belong to the English realm. She is the keeper of all our wonderful British heritage. I am proud of our Royal family and heritage and what it accomplished - no other countries monarchy did as much for its people; we are loosing that British pride and it is sad thing -there is no where else in the world like Britiain - I have lived in 4 different countries and want to move back home again. If only they would tighten the immigration laws

Some which she owns, she owns personally ... like her racehorses, her corgi, Sandringham House, etc.

Much of that which people think she owns are things she owns AS QUEEN, but she could not sell them. eg. the Crown Jewels, Buckingham Palace.

Probably there are Saudi princes which are much richer than her. Also, Bill Gates (at least until he got married and until he started giving some of it to "charitable" causes).
