As you can see from the above responses, animals are tested for new medicines, as well as makeup, shampoo, and other similar items. Contrary to popular belief, the majority of animals do not die. Mostly rats are used for drug testing, and sure it's true that sometimes they die. Mostly though the animals are given injuries or illnesses in order to test how well a drug cures it. As for the beauty products, the tests are very cruel. They scrape off some skin and try the shampoo on it. Really really mean stuff. But most of the time it isn't lethal, since the animals are expensive.

It seems like this should be in a text book so check there but if not:
animals are being test for everything from the newest medicine to your shampoo lots of animals die from the testing but some just get messed up

animals are tested upon for various purposes like drugs,cosmetics etc...although this is a life taking activity it still is performed..as the so called MAN has still been unable to discover a way out to this problem of killing the innocent animals unnecessarily !
in more dan 50% cases d animals die..

animals can be tested for cosmetic products like makeup and perfume etc and also for medical trials for new medicines etc.
i think the numbers are unknown about how many animals die during tests like these. companys who test animals often keep information very close to their chests because they can come under attack from animal rights activists

Animals are used in many kinds of testing from new hair products to drugs. They are also used in medical schools. I think they break the legs of animals so students of medicine can practice setting bones.

Animals used in pharmaceutical testing, cosmetic testing, surgical experimentation - just to name a few. Tons die every year. It is a necessary evil.!

animal testing is used by so many companies and laboratories. it is so sad. companies that make cosmetics and hygience products like soap and shampoo test all of their products on animals.drugs and new treatments must also be tested on animals before the fda approves them. any kind of lab that researches biological topics (genetics) uses animals for experimentation.
