Some fun and inexpensive costumes might be:

Cheese Sandwich... Get two large, flat boxes and glue a thin layer of white packing foam to the outside of each, paint the outside edges brown. Add some straps to hang over your shoulders, checking to be sure they hang low enough to be comfortable. Get a can of expanding foam sealant... there are several brand available at most home building supply and hardware stores... KwiK Foam, Touch 'n Foam, Great Stuff and Fill 'n Seal just to name a few. They dry very light weight. Check color (yellow or orange is cool, but white can be painted). Play with this stuff a little first before putting it on the boxes so you get an idea of how it works. Lay one box, white side out, on the floor and place some supports (other boxes work) in the area your body needs to fit in. Be sure to allow enough room for you to slip the whole thing over your head and room to move a bit once it is in place. Now spray a bead of foam about 4" from the outside (side) edge and let it expand. You will probably need to weight the top box so it can expand against it without raising it. Do this until the gap is suitably filled. Once dry, paint cheese color if necessary.

White Trash... Put on old white tee, shoes and pants, collect all sorts of white trash, literally... crumpled paper, paper towels, discarded drink cups... be creative but stick with used looking white items. Hot glue, pin or otherwise attach to the clothing. Make a hat out of more trash by attaching to a cap and smudge your face with white and charcoal or other 'dirty' looking smudges. Viola! White Trash!

The key is to be creative! Why go with the old, overused themes? Think of commonplace items or funny terms we use and build on that... for example: "a quickie"... get a bunch of quick releases (straps used for tying down items) wrap yourself in them and spend the night asking everyone if they would like a 'quickie'... the reactions can be hysterical, especially when you hand them a strap if they say yes! In this case, be prepared to fend off any who takes you seriously though.
