Yes I believe more and more rational, ordinary sensible - minded British people would. It is actually happening already - the National Front have gained more power in recent years then they had for a long time! The tabloids showing daily shock stories of the numbers of illegal immigrants coming into Britain have a great influence on this. It fightens me a bit. Personally, We are well - qualified medical people ( I am a docotr and my partner a medical pilot) who emigrated to Australia because it is all such a mess in the UK now

No - I would vote against them.
One day I would like to emigrate to the Czech Republic for a few years and I would also like to emigrate to Italy for a year or two. If immigrants were banned then I would not be able to move back home to my parents and sisters when I had finished living abroad.

I think all that most of the immigrants we gat benefit the country a lot because they are usually hard workers and pay a taxes which help schools and hospitals. Also most immigrants work in jobs most UK residents don't want so they really are not taking away jobs from residents.

In India most parties represents a religion, a caste, a region or a group of individuals. When the top leaders of a party quarrels for power, the party splits and the number of parties increases. To get in into power different parties unite and form a front. When election comes two or three fronts will be contesting. All these are simply cheating the public. The politicians always keep the people divided by raising the question of religion, caste, region, reservations, minority rights etc. In all most all parts of India, the present leaders are the spouse or children of early leaders. They make money using corruption and power. The money is then made use of in contesting elections. This process repeats election after election and generation after generation. When a new person gets an opprtunity to contest elections, most probably he/she is the son or daughter or spouse of a senior leader. Such a person is backed by huge wealth. As a result the he wins. During the training period he delebrately keeps away from corruption. During this period it appears to the people that he is a good candidate whatever his party is. All parties claim that they are for the commmon people. Actually there is no difference between parties. the same is true for candidates. Politics is a profession. Only professional cunning persons from wealthy (wealth obtained from corruption) political families can succeed in Indian politics. So the question raised by you is meaning less.

Yes, sadly they would. There are too many unthinking bigots who can't face up to their own inadequacies and need to scapegoat.

This year it's immigrants flooding into the country mean that Mr Bigot can't get a job. Nothing to do with his own lack of qualifications or idleness.

If all immigration stopped, he'd find someone else to blame. Working mothers, gays, ginger people.

Immigration has enriched this country greatly. Sure, there are problems, but the benefits far outweigh them. The greater skills base, the cosmopolitan nature of the arts and sports in UK, the food!

Yes I believe the majority would, similar to a vote on the death penalty.
That is why no politicians dare put it to the vote of the people.
The UK is now dominated by the minorities and politicians think they know better than the people what is good for the people.
In the case of the new EU members, it is only the UK that lets any body come and work in UK, the simple reason, it suppresses wages and makes the economic figures look good for people like Brown.

They never have done in the past.
If a right wing fascist party got into power, as an island this country would be extremely vulnerable to a ban on imports; we import all our fuel, petrol, tobacco, tea, coffee, bread flour; most of our food and medical supplies and so on.
Microsoft and other companies could refuse to activate their programs.

If they did get in, they wouldn't last long.
I imagine American troops would be sent in to take over and we'd become Airstrip One.

If we ban all Immigrants, then it wouldn't be fair for us to Immigrate ourselves. I bet there are more English people emigrated to other countries in the last 50 yrs than we've taken in!!!

No, but at the moment immigration officials seem to let EVERYONE in, quite possibly cos if they didn't, Human Rights would be an issue. We seem to have become a country that attracts free-loaders, & getting rid of THAT label is gonna be very hard indeed.

What you are trying to do is redefine human nature... Your question is Nietzschean in nature, his philosophy of the "will to Power" was later hijacked to promote a Nazi and anti-Semitic doctrine! Is this a road that the Great British Public want to go down?
