I used a registry cleaner last fall...locked my Dell down, had to take in & have cleaned & restored ($60.00).
They told me since I was running Windows xp sp2, to always go to the windows web site, found at tools/windows update, and type in the search there what I needed & they'd give me the different programs for what I needed & download it with a click of the mouse...BTW..sign up for automatic updates-it does it all for you whatever your 'puter needs.
I have learned,i need to stay with Windows since Windows works with windows software & the other software they recommend is listed once you search your source. Also I get great tips & instruction every Thursday delivered to my email from the computer lady, great tips great help with instructions & anything computer related, she has a computer shop.Below is her website thats FREE.
Good Luck
