Everyone else got the definition right... and no, it isn't the same as Cryptology... Though there is a "branch" of zoology known as cryptozoology, meaning the study of things like Bigfoot, Nessie, chupacabras etc... I don't know if it's a "science" that is really taken seriously though.

Zoology is the study of animals themselves. In studying zoology you will find information on the habits and what makes up an animal, like bones, fur, etc. you will find information on the lifestyle and living habits of animals. Zoology is a chunk taken out of Biology. hope this helps.
