Yeah - looks like your mouse is configured to work for left-handers. If the config settings doesn't resolve it - Start>Control Panel>Mouse then it could be a mechanical problem, more than likely a bit of stuff stuck under the mouse button inside the mouse. Open up the mouse and remove the roller ball and clean out as much of the dust bunnies as you can see (no harm giving the mouse a good shake while you're at it).

Check the settings on your mouse, it almost sounds like someone has set you up for a leftie mouse. The buttons seem to be reversed.

check if its left handed/right handed
if its a mac you might not have that
use ctrl V for pasting and ctrl C for copying

there is another way to copy and paste..
copy = press ctrl+c (at the same time)
paste= press ctrl+v (at the same time)
