Penguins are birds and they do have wings--but they use them to swim with, not fly. Seals are mammals. They are warm blooded, bear their young live, give milk, and they have hair.

Penguins are birds, and yes, they do have wings. It's just that penguins have evolved into flightless birds, who use their wings to swim, not fly.

And, seals are mammals. Mammals breathe with lungs (fish take oxygen from water with gills), and nurse their young and have hair (ergo the whiskers on a seal's face).

Yes. Penguins are birds, they somehow adapt their wings into filppers which helps alot in their swimming.[P6 science]
Yup. Seal are mammals as the female gives birth to young alive and it has mammal gland to provide milk for their young. But they are called as marine mammals as they spent most of their time in the ocean.

Yes penguins are birds and the "things" are rudimentary wings.
Seals are indeed mammals. They - and the penguins as well - would drown if they stayed under water for too long.
