Yes you can get a triple socket converter, but I think you should be very carefull what you plug into it, ie. only light loads, If you have so many singles its time to think about upgrading your system. The converters are made by Clipsall but are marketed under various names.
And yes, under the regulations you can fit these yourself.
I would never use one of these converters, and would always install a new twin outlet.

I aggree and encourage you to be carefull. If your house has single sockets then most like it is wired with a smaller 14 gage wireing.
You can buy adapters that take three plug ins or one that converts to 6. Just plug them in to the single socket.
BUT, If you think you/she would be useing that many appliances at once it would be safer, although more time consumeing, to run a heaver/larger 12 gage wire.
Got to lowes and buy two books, one is simple wireing and the other is advance wireinig. THey are simple, very imformative and come with clear to see pictures.
Sit down look, then study the project you plan to do and follow all safety precautions. You should also invest in an inexpensive electiric meter/tester that will tell you when the power is off and help you trace the right wire to the right socket you are working on.
when I moved in to my new house 35 yrs ago. I got rid of all the old round bulbs and installed all florecent fixtures (save a lot on electric bills. Then where ever I could installed new 12 gage or upgraded from 14-12 gage wireing.
In my area this places my wire abvove scale required. But be sure you follow directions exactly or get a knowledgable friend or licence electriction to help or do the job.
If you do it wrong and years later, you have an electrical fire and it is determined that YOU did it than insurance will not pay for your house.

You can convert them yourself. If 3-ways aren't available, just fit a single and a double next to each other.

Best to go to Lowe's or home depot and ask them. Don't overload them it is dangerous.
