Stratton Hall Sheep and Herb Farm is a small family farm located along a bend of the Raccoon Creek in Gloucester County, southern New Jersey. We are about 5 miles from the village of Mullica Hill, New Jersey, a regional antiques mecca, minutes from Wilmington, Delaware, a half-hour's drive south from Olde City Philadelphia, and 100 miles south of New York City. The farm is run by Joe and JoAnn Laughlin with the help of our children, Joe and Rebecca.
Our mission is to preserve and promote rare and endangered breeds of livestock and to educate the public about traditional farm life and skills, and the history of our region. Many endangered livestock breeds were actually the most popular breeds of the last century and played a major role in American agriculture's growth and development. It's important to preserve their valuable qualities and genetic diversity for the future because agricultural practices and needs continue to evolve and change. We are members of the Wool Sheep Breeders Association of New Jersey, the Jacob Sheep Breeders Association, the Jacob Sheep Conservancy, the Continental Dorset Club, and the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy.
