If she's sexually active, she needs to bring her partner with her for her next appointment. He may be the carrier of whatever is causing the infection and need to be treated at the same time. The problem is also sometimes seen in people who indulge in 'strange' sexual habits. Some people do things like stick pencils and straws into the urethra in an attempt to heighten sexual pleasure. Hey! Who am I to say what works for someone. What they often don't know is that anything put into the urethra needs to be sterile, or infection is very common. Repeated bladder infections are also common in people with less than adequate hygiene.

Well I guess we all know it is you with the problem...be honest...get along to the Genitro Urinary Clinic at your local hospital and get it sorted by a specialist who will ask you little more about your sexual activity and partners than the GP will and will thus be more able to clear you up and get the infection under control as I think you are well aware this is an STI.., In answer to your addition...NO I MEANT A SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTION it is in 93% of all cases, and the others are poor hygiene and toilet practices x and I bet you have had your share of STI's too xx Why not be honest with yourself. Bet the old pooper is smarting a bit too right now from the look fo you..get a full MOT x

She may need to have her kidneys checked as an infection that is recurring after several bouts of antibiotics can travel to the kidneys. Generally she should drink cranberry juice and empty her bladder frequently but if antiobiotics is not killing the infection then her kidney function needs to be checked.

Drink 1 litre of cranberry juice every day until her urine is totally clear towards the end of the day.

Tell your friend to eat crystallized ginger after each meal.
