For best results, always hand-wash your glassware. The cloudiness you see on your glassware may not simply be filmy build-up - you may have etching, which is caused by too much detergent. Once glassware is etched, you can't do anything about it.
To Clean Your Now Cloudy Glasses:
1) Set your cloudy glassware in a large pot or tub.
2) Fill the pot or tub with one part vinegar and one part warm water.
3) Soak the glassware for at least an hour, OR
4) You can let your glasses soak overnight if the problem is a tough one.
5) Scrub any remaining film with a plastic scrubber or brush.

It's possible that they are etched from being washed in the dishwasher. Using more detergent than needed is a common cause for this. If they are etched, then they are clean, but you won't be able to polish them back to their original look.
In the future, use a smaller amount of detergent to avoid etching on your glasses.

You don't. The dishwashing detergent will gradually etch the surface of the glass. The glasses are clean, the surface just isn't as smooth as it used to be.

You can hand wash them, using a scraper sponge, (but its quite a lot of work) and then dry by hand, or in a dish tub, lay the glasses in white vinegar, and soak. The vineagar will eat the crud on your glasses. You can also add water and bleach in the dish tub, in equal parts, let soak, then wash by hand well, rinse well, then hand dry. Cheaper than glass cleaner, and you probably already have those items on hand. Good luck

Try putting a filter on the water intake line to goes into the Washer. However, make sure that you put it on in an area that can be reached because filters only last about 4-6 months.
