North Koreas is a small country with little resources. At this point China almost supports them. I am sure if the US made it known that we would see a chinese takeover as a libeation, much like our actions in Iraq, they would be more than willing to absorb North Korea into the Fold.
China increases the power of their nation, but we eliminate a loose cannon, and solidify the defense of not just South Korea, but also the Japanese islands. This would also allow South Korea to Become the one true Korea. Seems like a win win all around!

First of all, Chinese are not like Americans who would think of invasion and taking over in the first instance. Chinese had its worst days of being occupied by foreign countries like Britain, Germany, Japan, France...etc during Tsing Dynasty and I dont think Beijing would do the same to North Korea. It would also weaken its claim over disputed islands and waters now occupied by Japan.

Beijing is very wary of interfering with internal affairs of foreign countries (not to mention taking over a country) because it would again weaken its claim over Taiwan, an issue the US always play against China. This is evident by stance of China in opposing numerous motions (usually put forward by the US) at the UN in interfering with other countries. Not that China is satisfied with the status quo of these disturbed countries but that China is concerned very much with the ultimate unification of Mainland and Taiwan and would never take it lightly to interfere with other countries' internal affairs.

In economical terms, North Korea is the least desirable country one is willing to take in. What's the point of bringing in a country full of refugees and poor peasants as if China does not have its own fair share?

If North Korea is up for grab, the US will be the first country to want it because it will serve as one of the few locations in building up a hostility circle around China.

Interesting idea. Yeah that sounds great on paper... but our little dictator in North Korea won't like that very much as he tends to be a bit power hungry.

China doesn't really want North Korea because half it's people are either refugees or in some prison. North Korea would be a greater liability to them.

N. Korea has a incredibly small military - they might't sustain an extremely super on whilst ninety 9% of their voters basically have dirt to consume. At any value, N. Korea isn't as remoted as you may think of. human beings N. Korea are sneaking into China or different international places searching for secure haven status, and human beings from China are sneaking in to objective and help the human beings via offering cutting-ingredient scientific care, and so on. So one among those plague could unfold into N. Korea and could wipe out the inhabitants, maximum of whom are already quite susceptible from an prolonged time of malnutrition.

Would be a very bad solution. The No Korean dictator would mount all his military and economic resources against an invasion and millions of civilians would starve or be killed
