I am using my Mums 'Answers' and i wondered (I am 12) who named shapes? Triangle - tri meaning 3, but the more complicated ones?

Despite the complete idiots on here there are a few of us who would genuinely like to help.
shapes are named acording to their sides as you already said in your question. Most of them come from Greek words - so the greeks named the shapes.
Have a look on wikipedia it has lots of info type in polygons!
