what are the saddest/most depressing songs you know...and what songs do you listen to when you want to cheer up?

Saddest/most depressing could easily depend on circumstance - for example, don't make the mistake ( as I did ) of listening to "bedsitter" by Soft Cell on the day you moved out of your parents' house.
Cheery songs are again a bit situation dependent, though you'll never go far with something bouncy that makes you want to dance about.
Strangest phenomenon I've found to do with this question has to be Pink Floyd's "Dark side of the moon" and Radiohead's "OK computer", both of which are notoriously depressing. Now go listen to the Easy Star all-stars reggae versions of those albums ( "Dub side of the moon" and "Radiodread", respectively ) - I defy you to get through either without a big grin on your face and the urge to sing along really loud...
