Or are they destined for the scarp heap in 10 years time when the sun's flare patterns change?

I saw on TV recently that sat nav systems only work because of current solar flare activity. When the solar flare pattern changes Tom Tom's will no longer work. But I cannot find any info online. Can someone please tell me if this idea is true or false?

nah my dad's got one, his is an ipaq with a tom tom built in though so it's a bit more expensive than a normal tom tom. But for a good tom tom i think you're lookin at about £300. Anyway, yeah they're really annoying, they constantly go haywire and the maps are inaccurate. DO NOT BUY ONE!

The drum or the GPS thing?
The drum is worth buying if you want to play it.
The GPS is ceratinly worth getting if you travel a lot and have a reasonably paid job.

yes, unless you want to keep pulling out your A-Z from time to time. The only reason why they're not up to the standard we would like is because it's from an american military satellite.

it all depends on where you go and how much use you will get out of it,
me personally i have one built into my phone so it has more than 1 use
