running and working out really help me when I am depressed and ofcourse I am struggling with that right now. I also am having insomnia and know exercise would help. Has anyone had a d&c and how long did it take to get your next period?

Speaking as an ob-gyne, a woman who have had a D&C typically can resume her normal activities after 3 to 5 days. It is usually normal to have minimal bleeding until 3 days after the procedure. Normally you expect to have your period on your next monthly cycle since ovulation resumes 2 weeks post D&C. Hope this helps.

Sarah, I am obviously not a woman and never had a D&C.
but, for the future, you need to be an infomed patient.
Those are questions that should have asked of you doctor before you had the procedure done.
Please apply that suggestion to anything that requires anyone to invade your body (for good of course), after the fact is a little to late to change your mind.
Excercise is a great stress and depression reliever. Call your doctor.
There are several web sites that can offer suggestions on how to alliviate insomnia. Exercise is only one. Regular bed times, no food after after 9:00 pm, no caffiene, try drinking milk or for an evening snack (not a late night one) a slice or two of turkey. Both help induce sleepiness.
Sorry, had to put those last comments in.
