I am in same boat as yours. On the top of that I don't live in India anymore so it becomes really difficult to handle. If you reside in India then I would suggest you to go for Nationalised bank. I understand that you are talking about *New generation banks* which I understood as offering many services online and easy banking but the fact is, they employ only fluent english speaking pretty women or babus but the work quality factor is not more than the nationalised bank. It is good to work with our babu in shirt-pant than the one in tie.
I have tried many banks to note here, all are same so I have decided to settle down with SBI, fortunately, the one located in my home town responds within 2 business days so thats ok with me, rather than ICICI which takes ages and can't convert my resident account to NRE in last year !!! I am really fed up with all these banks. In my honest opinion, all these *new generation banks* should withdraw all services from civil sector and should serve only corporate sector because that is how they behave, rude, arrogant and unhelpful.

Look for a nationalised bank near to your office or residence. If you are northern part of India, go to Punjab National Bank,
If you are on the western part, go to Bank of Baroda,
east or south Canara Bank/Indian overseas Bank/corporation bank.
Of course, you can bank with state bank of India anywhere, where the customer service across the desk may not be excellent, but back office and systems are certainly better.

Citibank Coustomer Response is better than HDFC, whereas ICICI is at Par with Citibank (some time better than the rest), Hathway is yet to estabilish a Coustomer Resonse, whereas Hutch keep you waiting for longer time, but i feel satisfied at the end.
