i never used anything different, but tried to make sure i used the same. Some babies have really sensitive skin, if your baby is not having any skin reactions to what you are using, I wouldnt change or use anything special.

In my experience the special baby detergents do not wash very well. A friend turned me on to All Free and Clear. This is what I use to wash all the household clothes with. My husband was using a perfumed dryer sheet and just by holding her it brokeout her skin. We now use All Free and Clear dryer sheets too. It's better to use perfume/dye free for all the household laundry from every aspect.

Experience my son was allergic
don't wash with powder that are too soapy
instead on snuggle put 2 spoon on vinegar on your rinsing water
it is to remove any chemical left by the detergent
That was the only relief that I had with my son
since then I have 2 other children and that how I wash their cloths when they were new born

I buy laundry detergent called Bio-Kleen for all of our clothing(including my five month old son). Bio-Kleen doesn't have a lot of the chemicals in it that the normal detergent do. I do wash my son's clothes separate from my clothes.

I would try your regular laundry detergent and if your baby doesn't break out in a rash you probably are safe using the soap you got. You may want to rinse your baby's clothes a second time to get more of the soap out of your baby's clothes.

you really should wash your babys clothes in something made for just babies. I love BABY ALL. It removes the stains great and is a lot cheaper than Dreft. Check walmart and Target. Its usually around 4.97for the regular size bottle or 9.97 for the huge one, Babies skin is more sensitive than ours and everything that touches your baby should be washed in something made for thier skin. Usually by the time they are around one you can start washing their clothes with your in a dye free detergent. but untill then, i would recommend using something like BABY ALL. I love it

I found I had to get the hyperallergenic detergent without any perfume for my baby as she has very sensitive skin. We separate her clothes from ours so as she wont come in contact with any chemicals we might have on our clothing. If I dont do that, she breaks out in a rash. I thought as she got a little older that would stop, but last time I tried 'normal' detergent on something she still reacted to it. No fabric softener either...

I have used Dreft and Ivory in the past, but some of the baby's clothes got mixed into our laundry and washed in our normal detergent and he seems to be just fine wearing them.

If you are worried about residues irritating your baby, give the clothes an extra rinse in warm water.

(There is no such thing as a chemical-free soap or detergent. Soap is a chemical compound of potassium and/or sodium with fatty acids.)

I used Dreft. It doesn't have a strong smell. Some detergents have a strong smell and the detergents can irritate their skin. A lot of babies have reactions to them. My daughter is almost 5 months now and I use both.

Nope. I don't think a normal washing formula is bad at all. If your child reacts to it, try to find some baby wash (for bathtime) and use it for the clothing as well as your child.
