Oh my friend! I have danced this dance quite a few times! First don't panic, if your residence is fairly new it most likely is'nt going to afford the slinky fart a quick out. If you are in a mobile home your next move should be to block all floor vents to your ac and heat. Use a sturdy item like books or patio blocks;they can be little hurcules if they are aggitated. Put any pets who could cause injures to the snake or itself in a safe area away from likely hiding spots. Now according to what type of climate you currently have search cool clims/the warm places in your home:under the hot water heater, close to incandesant lighting that emmits heat, by those floor vents you covered earlier. In hot places check all cool, dark, quiet spots like under the furniture, allong wall plates, by those vents you covered. Remember slinky can go up into things too. If all else fails, and you are ready to surrender you can try baiting your buddy with his next mousy meal in a small cage in one of the affore mentioned hiding spots. Don't give up; I lost a boa in my first car and ended up keeping a mouse loose in the car for 2 weeks. I ended up with a well traveled mouse on week 4 and my boa came crawling out of the gear shift assembly none the worse for wear and glad to see me again, and the mouse ofcource!

try not to keep a door/ window open where i snake can escape. Get a little tank and trow some mice in there and wate hopefully the snake will be quite hungry and want some yummy food. I also here there are some humane traps you can purshace, but putting some mice in his aquarium should do just fine. Make sure you check the most unusual places to find your snake

Yes there are traps available, but the chance is big, that the snake has left your house already.
Ever thought of reporting this missing snake?
The lid was on you say?
I guess it escaped earlier than you tel us here.
How does a snake open a lid:magicians would love to know how the snake pulled this of.

Bring a squeamish old lady into the house. He'll appear as soon as you leave her alone in a room. You could leaving a live mouse in the aquarium and see if it lures the snake back. it should if snake hasn't eaten too recently.

That's a classic cal king - banded wild type. The California Kingsnake is one of the most variable snakes in the trade. There are two forms that are common in the wild - Banded type and Striped type. Even amongst those there is a ton of variety - wide bands, thin bands, yellow bands, cream bands, white bands, bands that are yellow and white - wide striped, thin striped, etc. There are also aberrant cal kings that have genetics from both striped and banded - High white, reverse striped, spotted, etc. - there is a LOT of pattern variability in the California Kingsnake, so much so that they use to classify them as numerous different subspecies (five, I believe - 3 in US and 2 in Mexico) - but it turns out they are all just different varieties of the same subspecies. Banded are my personal favorite, even though they are the most common.

look EVERYWHERE. That's all I can say... I know of someone who lost a baby kingsnake and found it weeks later coiled up inside their phone. Check every little nook and cranny, especially the warmer parts of the house. If you don't have other pets that would disturb it, you can leave paper covered with sand or flour placed strategically around the house, that way, if/when you find snake tracks you at least know approximately where to look. Good luck!!

There are several humane traps that can be purchased or you could put on a bunch of protection and search the entire house top to bottom (kidding). That also depends on how long it has been gone after a few days it is kind of futile to look anymore.
