roses,chocolates symbolize for the beauty of women.they are the beauty of body like roses and the sweet of their saying and even the beauty of their mind.while guns, electronic devices symbolize for the characteristics of men.they are strength,intelligence ,and adventurous mind.nowadays,may be all these thing can be exchanged between men and women.but I think the traditional thought is still the best.

Do we? I have given my husband roses and chocolates--we both enjoy our sound system immensely, and although he is the electronic wiz in the family, I used to shoot skeet and, although, it is not a gun, I used to fence, epee style.
I don't see him feminine for receiving flowers, and I think he gets a kick out of that I used to fence.
As for guns, mainly I wanted enough familiarity with them not to have to be scared of them, and to be able to disarm them. He was trained to shoot in the military, but has less interest in them than I do.
By the way, in Japan, it's the men who are given the chocolates on Valentine's Day by the women.

Because the majority of women would rather have chocolate over guns... And, the majority of men would rather mess with electronics. I'm not saying ALL, but the majority. It has just stuck as the stereotype.

Roses are delicate, and guns are something rough. When it comes down to society, women are seen as sensitive creatures and men as macho creatures. I think it's a symbolic thing.

Men are always trying to be all hard and gung ho,where society tries to paint it that we need our women soft and seductive like a rose dipped in chocolate!

that is not true..guys like chocolate n roses too..plus there are a lot of women who uses guns, there r a lot of women who are specialized in the field of elctronics

coz female have soft hearts.they r mostly very emotional. but boys they don't understand one's feeling. so all the rough items r for them that matches their kind and their heart.
