Spiritual support, if you're talking about religions...
As living in this world gets more and more stressful each day, life is no longer as simple as 10,000 yrs ago. Living in this world has been proven to be very tough if you are to walk alone. That's why you have your family,partner,colleagues,neighbour,friends. But all these people can only support you in that many areas.
Most people would have a few things they could not look upon these people to give support for. Most of those "things" are claasified as secrets. That's when religion comes in.
Some don't even know what is that very thing they need to be supported,but they are very sure they need a pillar in life and that they will never get that from these people. That's when religion comes in.
That's only my opinion. :)

Islam united the Arab tribes which were at war that time, Founded a Political, economic, and social system, Organized the lives of people living in the Islamic lands.

Fully agree, wars, wars, and more wars. The Crusades, WW I, WW II, and now WWIII?
Islam too has only spread through wars and conquest of Persia, India, parts of Far East up to Indonesia, towards the west via North Africa all the way to Spain.
Hindus & Buddhists are the only religions relatively free from violence.
All please note the word RELATIVELY.

Depends on your thinking. People of all religions have given something back to humanity, normally the trouble makers who make the loudest noise. Try the academics.
