right now? with acts like the darkness, oasis, franz ferdinand and coldplay I'd have to go with brit rock.

I dunno, i can handle both on a good day. But it dependson the day though.
Brit rock tends to be little whiney at times. It also doesn't bring anything new to the table most times. It tends to go back to its 'roots' (in other words, it all sounds like Beatles or Sex Pistols with a bit more polish).
American rock on the other hand is very experimental at times and there are loads of bands that have changed the face of rock entirely (Britian just never had a Nirvana or Tool). It's also a lot heavier than most British acts (more raunchy guitars and heavier riffs).
So yeah, overall i prefer American rock, but i can handle British rock on a good day as well.

Contemporary Brit Rock, but for the older music, then American Rock

Everyone knows all the best bands have come out of Great Brittain and I agree. I'd much rather go to an old fart Genesis reunion than a Green Day concert.

Most americans never 'get' british rock these days. Kasabian r awsome. although it is strange thr r no british emo bands?
