wrong kid. judaism is a religion; jewish is following the religion and israeli is the nationality.
jerusalem is sacred to all the three religions, coz the father of all the three semitic religions preached from there. so u have david's door and christ's cemetry, and the al-aqsa mosque within the same compound. the politics lies in who will guard the compound. israel has taken over the land sorrounding the compound, and christians and muslims who r not sure whether the jews will be honest in preserving their legacy.

Jewish is a category unto itself. Most akin to "nation". The Jews are a nation, and also a religious community.
