every cell phone has a dictionary built in it so that u would use it in typing a message through t9 word. when u switch to t9word u need not type the letter individually. let me show

generally to type hi you would type the key 4 twice wait for a while and type 4 trice. but with t9word u need not type it that many times or wait. u can type the key 4 twice and there u can see hi one the screen. it takes the work from the dictionary that its hi

in the same way what every word u want to type just type the key only once and it will go as per the dictionary

to be specific let me show another word

lets take "how are you"

for this it will take u a long time to type manually. but with t9 word u can type it faster

just press the keys as writen down

469(space key)273(space key)968

let me make it more specific when you type the first letter 4 it will show "I" don't worry about changing it to "H" just keep on typing the next alphabet. as the next one is at 6 when u press the key 6 it will show u "In" just leave it and press the key 9 then u can see "How" on the screen. hope u have got what i mean

best of luck

T9 is the predictive text application. By choosing this application you do not need to press the required letter key more than once to navigate to the letter - the application predicts the word you want and displays a selection of letters/words, you scroll and choose the word you need. This saves time and energy in a fast paced environment if you are that way inclined.

t9 refers to Text on 9 keys, its the "predictive text" dictionary of mobile devices nowadays. instead of slowly tapping out every single @#$% character, you can just tap once on the key which your letter is in (on the mobile device's dialpad) for the entire word. then the device will attempt to "guess out" your word, base on an internal dictionary. if your word doesnt exist in the original set of words, you can add it in, and it will apply to that respective combination of keys.

for example, the word radio. instead of tapping "772344666", you can just type 72346 and words with that same combination will pop out also, of which you can choose your word.

preset suffixes, i can only guess you are referring to mobile devices as well.
