If it is a word document, place your cursor where you want to insert the picture. Then go to the toolbar on the top of your screen, click on insert and when the menu drops down, click on pictures. there you will be given options on where to insert the pictures from (eg. from clip art or from file). If the picture is stored as a file in your computer, click on file and you can browse. Go to the location of the file, and click insert on the window that opens. your picture will appear in the document. This is the standard way, you can also just open the file with the picture, select it using Ctrl+A and copy-paste it to the document

From the menu bar , Insert ---> Picture ---From File. From the box, just browse around until you locate the pic you want, then double-click it, or click it once and click insert or press enter. Or look at the bottom of your screen for a bution... mountain with a sun behind it.. that's the insert picture button.

Then you may have to resize or crop it, because it will be too big or too small. Move your mouse to a blank spot on the menu bar next to "Help" and RIGHT-click. A tool bar selection widow will drop down. Then move down and click "Picture". This will give you a toolbar to work with the pics in a document (click the picture first so the comp knows which one you waat to work with!) Use the dots around the pic to resize it, but use the corner dots so it doesn't get messed up. Play around with it a little and you'll get better with the the various tools. Theres brightness, contrast, cropping, and more.

If you make a mistake, press CTRL on the keyboard and hold it down while you tap Z (ctrl + Z). It will will backtrack and undo anything you've done (any program really). Be careful, or suddenly everything will disappear.

Sorry for the long answer, but I'm showing someone right now how to do what you asked, and they keep asking questions!

in some documents you may need to go to insert, picture and then choose either clip art or from a file. From then its simple you find the picture that you want and press insert or ok depending on the option that is there. However it will be different for each type of document so its hard to answer your question.

First open any photo I mean right click on photo file icon and select "open With" then ==> Paint and in paint click on Square shaped and dotted selector tool and drag and select the portion of the photo you want . I mean on the photo keep left mouse button pressed and move over the photo then right click and copy the image. Now this image will be in clip board. Now you open word document go to Edit menu and select paste . Now you will see the photo in the word documnt.
