According to this article found om MSNBC news site, Democrats have decided to target the personal lives of Republicans.

"It is attack and distract," said Maureen Donovan, a spokeswoman for GOP Rep. John E.Sweeney.

Former Republican National Committee chairman Ed Gillespie said Democrats are dangerously close "to overreaching" in their attacks, risking a political backlash like the one that damaged Republicans after they pushed for the impeachment of President Bill Clinton over the Monica S. Lewinsky scandal in 1998. Democratic operatives said they are aware of this possibility but are calculating that, as long as the attacks are at the local level, they will not backfire.

I have read this entire article and this is the most juvenile attempt to win votes that I have seen to this date. Does this mean that Dems can't argue the issues, so they have to dazzle voters with gossip, innuendo, and half-truths instead of logical debate?

Democrats or Republicans - they're all politicians and have no clue (or interest in) playing fair. Playing fair is not in thier vocabulary. Winning is all that matters and at whatever cost. Politicians are obsessed with the power and money. I'm already totally sick of all the mudslinging.

"Does that mean that the Dems Can't argue the issues, so the have to dazzle voters with gossip, innuendo, and half-truths instead of logical debate?" Ding Ding Ding! Very good question. I have no idea what the Dem's stand for..the only thing that stands out is they can't stand Bush and want us to believe that everyone in America hates him too by wanting us to believe their polls lol. There are some other interesting things happening with voter requirements. Why do Dem's fight voters having to have ID to vote? Their argument against it is that poor people can't afford the 8 or 10 dollars it takes to obtain an ID. In Arizona they said ok we can understand that we will buy their ID's for them. They came back with but they have no means of transportation to get to the DMV, again they said no problem we will go to their homes and do the proper paper work there. When Jessie Jackson heard about this he went to Arizona and said this was still a violation of their fundamental rights because that would give those authorities the chance to plant drugs or other illigal stuff in their houses. Sure seems like a lot of fighting over what should be a common sense requirment to stop any voter fraud. Just makes me wonder what their agenda really is lol

We not in any respect suggested "no democrat is ever incorrect" yet thats what we listen from the republicans on a daily basis. how can you stick up for Bush/Cheney/Rove? As "christians" It certainly does no longer be prudent at this juncture

Well here in Massachusetts it is the Republicans that are doing the attack ads. They are even giving hypothetical situations of how bad the Democrat is from something that he never did.

alls fair in love , war and politics or so it seems, you cant limit attack ads to one party, here in the mid west both parties engage in it, however it does seem that when one attacks the record of a congressman or senator its called mud slinging when its fact pointing, and I think that they both use it equally
