I am having US robotics 9105 ADSL 4 port router...but i have lost its installation CD....now i have to reconfigure the modem completely to new settings.....Is the installation CD required to configure the modem again after resetting it?......is there any other way except the cd...like drivers etc?

Would be very thankful if anyone helps!

The CD is just a wizard. You can reconfigure your router from your browser. Open your browser, type in the IP of your router (the default IP you can find in the manual... it is 192.168.2.1 I think, or if you changed it type that IP. PS: it is the LAN IP), type the username and password and then reconfigure your router. Be shore that the network cable is plugged in a LAN port and in the PC. If you don't know the username, password or IP address then reset your router to the default settings. You can do that by pressing the little button from the back of your router for 10 seconds. The manual or even the CD you will find on the US Robotics website at www.usr.com

Sometimes companies send this cd that you have to use before you setup your router. However you don't always need to, A matter of fact I have never seen a router that you couldn't configure without connecting to it. I used to program cisco routers. To try and connect to your router go to run type cmd. When the black screen (dos prompt) comes up type ipconfig
it should show your ip address and gateway address. Go to your browser and type the gateway address in this will bring a interface or ask you for a password. Type admin / admin for the username and password. If that dosn't work then you might have to talnet to it. That you can do by going to run type cmd and then typing in the dos prompt talent open "gateway adress here"
