She has glasses and has done since the age of 4, she is now 9. Her prescription is for distance though she needs them all the time. She has made the same complaint since she could talk! She has no difficulty with reading, spelling etc.

I would certainly suggest a thorough check up with a proper eye specialist. If that is all normal try a child psychiatrist, it could be something that happened to her when she was alot younger and has become part of her mind set. I am not suggesting she has a 'problem' but children often make associations between things that defy adult logic. I once had a word phobia, bizarrely i associated a particular word to people i saw being sick on a very rough hovercraft crossing, i couldn't say the word and found it difficult to listen to others say it. She might have just made one of these bizarre associations.

It`s no doubt you have consulted an Optician about your little one`s problem and advise given about tinted specs, sunglasses and other short term supposed cures but nothing seems to work?but this problem, with your little girl, has been posed by some technician who deals with specticals so i hope her problem can soon be solved. The only thing i could think of is special contact lenses that could soften the colour yellow.
Good luck

I am no doctor, nor do I have any real answers but I have a couple of friends whose children wear coloured lens glasses (green I think) to help with their reading etc...I would take your daughter to an eye specialist and not just your bog standard high street optometrist and talk to them to see if tinted lenses of some nature could help with this problem....imagine being "allergic" (of sorts) to yellow - its one of our brightest and most lovely colours, poor darling. Good luck hope you find some help with this

This is a symptom of autism. She may have a slight case of autism, or/and X. (Autistic kids have been know to be sensitive to colors like yellow, green, etc.)

Send he to a doctor, immediately.

OR

She could just have sensitive eyes.
