i am 16 and have a very nice life. i have loving parents, a large no. of friends and a lot of ppl around me.but i always feel that none of them understand me.i have been gud at studies but with the new course and all i am struggling yet i manage a very good result.my parents constantly nag me with the same thing especially my father. i remain indifferent towards them but it really hurts.at time just for the sake doing something that they dont want me to do i stop studying and indulge myself in watchin tv or reading novels to waste time. my friends are all in different schools and we dont talk as much as we used too.the new frnds are not close enough to discuss my problems with.what should i do?i feel that i am alone in this world and no one even tries to understand my pain.i know all my friends and my parents.i have them figured out and know how to react around them in different situations but i feel the lack of that someone who would understand me?please help!!

WELL GIRL,I Would advise u to enjoy your life.the best thing you can do is forget what others tell.believe in yourself.find out strong points & weak points.endulge yourself in ur ambitions in life.all u really need is confidence to boost ur self esteem.u know something that i have 2 lines which always make me feel better in any situation,i hope they will help you too:
1)HOPE HAS WINGS.
&
2)CONSTANT AS THE STARS ABOVE,ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE LOVED.
Life is very small.understand this and look at positives in every event.may be ur parents behave in such way because they care for you & feel you are not doing justice to your real goal.give urself & ur parents sometime, everything will be ok.
hope u understand what tell & improve urself in all spheres of life.BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I myself have been through the same stage when I was your age dear! I was a topper like you. And we all feel the need of that someone special as we enter our Puberty. If you have a sibling, you confide in him/her.
Parents need to understand that nagging is very derogatory for a child. What love & politeness can do nothing else can match them.
Old habits die hard. When your father is in a good mood sit & talk to him.Communication is the best under these circumstances.
God Bless you!

I hope you already have lot of friends now, its just something which happens with some many people, you are not the first.at this age you need to study hard and in future make a career, its just the way you think, people definately understand you, do this small trick, instead of them understanding you, you try to understand them, why are your parents saying to study hard so on. Its will make it all more easy, you will be successful.

NO my dear, donot be embarrased by this situation , this is a common emmotions which crosses this age. Do u r own duties and automatically every thing will go fine. But at any cost do not neglect u r parents or u r friends, U have to fight this all alone . If u r feeling alone mail to shakthi_vel20054@yahoo.co.in

oh my god. my dear you need to give preferrence to things at 16 u need to study hard so that your carrier takes shape and thats what will be in the minds of your parents. What u should do is start a fresh take things lightly and give time to your self.Start searching for old good friends hang out a bit with them age group matters people of your age will understand because they will have more or less the same problems.Try to meditate or pray a bit to be cool.

Well you know you can always talk to us on here. It is good that your doing good in your studies, but it seems to me you dont have any you time...To do something silly, to hang out with friends...Why dont you pick a day where you can be you day, pamper yourself a little. Nothing you do is going to completely make the parents happy, so be happy before you lose your sanity.....

Today,in this competitive world everyone has to struggle for his/her success.I know how it hurts as I've experienced it.Just avoid those negative traits and try to acquire the positive ones.I mean if they say something negatively avoid them and if they say positively accept it.This will not discourage u and thus will help u to be in track(studies). Now stop worrying and believe in yourself. Always listen to your heart which will tell u how to act in every situation and that's it..............!

yea.. its natural tat too u r only daughter to ur parents rite..
most of the people who dont have brothers and sisters will sometime in thier life feel awkward.. but remember u really dont want to be..
even me felt the same situation once in my life but not know.. guess im now happier too.......))
the best way is to search for ur companion something like books, musics or any-other unique hobbies.. but dont get adict to computer games :) becoz whn i felt the same i got adicted to playing games in comp...
best wishes for ur future and never let ur confidence down
