sometimes it does, but usually, laying down stops or reduces it because you are horizontal and immobile.
This can lead to that stuffed up feeling when you try to sleep, especially with sinuses

instead of running down your nose, like an overflow system, the mucus then drains down your throat and into your digestive system - the same as other body by-products. If you are really unlucky, it leaves a distinctive taste, but youll understand now

Of course it does! the difference is that when you are awake, you are aware of it so you blow it, when you are asleep it dries up towards the front as you use your mouth to breath and the rest runs down your throat.

it does as far as I know it just goes down your throat yuk sounds gross dont it but it does and you don't realise cause your asleep and everything it apparently makes you snore aswell thats why you can get coughs and sore throats.

All you have to do to solve the cold and bad throat is to breathe in alot of steam from a boiling saucepan of water. but don't burn yourself get an adult to help lol.

Actually, it usually does.
But instead of dripping out your nose, it trickles back and down your esophagus. Occasionally, it will irrate the trachea and that's when you wake up coughing.
