the most important school event would have to be school captaincy speeches each year. you watch kids entertain and make fun of your school not sparing teachers or anything even if it means disqualification. lollies are thrown, poems are recited some speeches are song. i always thought it was everyones dream to be school captain. id watch all the speeches each year and take down what the audience responded well to and what they didnt. then came my year. i was so nervous but pretty psyched. getting up there and playing to the crowd it was the best feeling. after that i wasnt really fazed about getting captain or not. of course there are the students who take it too seriously urging the school to not just vote for the most popular kid or the funniest speech. personally i think if you want to run for captain dont waste peoples time by doing that. they dont want to be sitting in a hall for 2 hours listening to a lecture. that said it is always expected and usually worth sitting through for the next speech anyway. then voting. this is so important as the new representatives of your school are going to be picked. you have to be wary of what sort of voice you want to be listening to in assemblies for the next year and whos going to make them more bareable. theres alot to consider.

Being able to hang out with friends, having a fun and exiting social life, even if it was mostly drama, sometimes that drama was way more intresting than regular everyday work 9-5 jobs. Life
