the best way is open ur cpu and put out ur ram if u see 2 gaps in ram on copper line side then its SD RAM and if u find 1 gap then its DDR RAM. go to store and ask for that particular ram or u can show that ram to the store also for same ram

just open the cpu and take out the ram and check who many nouch if 2 sd ddr ram
1 but not in the middle than it is dd1ram
1 notch in middle of ram than ddr2 ram
you can get from the local shop

restart ur comp and press delete immediately as it restarts. u'll get into bios. there under the ram tab, u can find out all the specs of ur ram including the bus speed and whether its ddr/sd.

Left click on START (bottom left of screen) and then on MY COMPUTER right click then click on PROPERTIES and it will tell you there... Underneath COMPUTER :)
