It doesn't really annoy me as much as it illustrates their ignorance. They are actually two totally different things. The intranet is generally organization specific. IE in order to log onto or view an organization's intranet, you need to be a part of the particular organization. Not so with the Internet. Also, in most cases, in order to access the intranet you need Internet access.

Not really, you should take a chill pill! The Internet is referred to as the "Intranet" when provided by companies to communicate within the privacy of that company, the content cannot be viewed externally! If someone is referring to the "intranet" is it possible they are actually referring to their web service specifically!?!

I am actually amazed how many people use the net regularly and don't learn how to use it properly. That was one of my first goals when I got my first computer. Learning about security was extremely important as well as the unkeep of the computer itself i.e. disk clean up, defrag, clearing cookies, temp folders etc. Plus being careful of what websites to visit, not opening emails from unknown senders. This forum has amazed me completely with people's lack of knowledge, how they ask questions which could easily be accessed via Google. The list goes on!

As for using the word "intranet", that could be from those first language isn't English.

I just a heads up for everyone. There is something in networks called Intranet. It is basicly a network that uses Internet protocols sorta like being there own inside internet.

No. Maybe you should take the time out to explain the differences between the two instead of getting annoy at something sooo trivial. You're going to grow gray hairs real fast that way.
