I'm 18 years old, hold a GED and a Career Deploma (PCDI) in Hotel/Restaurant Management and worked at a Restaurant for 1 1/2 years (NOT in management)... I want a job as a Restaurant manager... but from my knowlege, everyone wants at least 2 years of management experiance.... How am I suppose to get management experiance if no one will hire me without it?

Any suggestions what Restaurants I migh apply for a management possition.

You are going to have to work yourself up to that position. You will need to work in a restaurant as a "non manager" and PROVE yourself to management as a person who could become a manager ..eventually they will make you an assistant manager and then finally a manager. Running a restaurant is NOT an easy task..there is a lot you have to do..it would be DUMB for anybody to hire somebody and make them a manager without SOME experience .. so you will need to work yourself to that position...EVERYTHING WORTHWHILE TAKES TIME..

You need to start at the bottom. In my situation after high school (at an ice cream shop to help myself through school) It took me less than 6 months of doing everything I was told and more to get my first management position. It took another year before I was actually named assistant manager. It sucks, but everyone starts at the bottom. On the plus side, management experience is invaluable on a resume. I recently took a lucrative publishing job based on my 3 years of management experience and high school English grades (my college was all computers, so it really didn't play heavily).
