It does depend on the type of rash that it is. Stay away from the diaper rash cream. If it isn't a yeast diaper rash, you can use Vasiline and then put some 100% Corn Starch on it. Let your baby's bottom area breath as much as possible. I usually would let my son's bottom area air out before I feed him, because there is a better chance of him not peeing all over. You also need to change the diapers more often. It would also be wise to get a different brand of diaper. When my son got a rash I went to the health food store and got the diapers without all the chemicals in them. Something else you could try is everytime your baby wets or poops, clean there bottom in the bathtub.

Keep baby's diaper area clean and dry. Change the diaper more frequently, and when possible leave the diaper off for a little while to allow the skin to breathe. If the baby isn't yet mobile, try laying him/her on a waterproof pad and some towels or cloth diapers (burp cloths) in just a shirt and socks for 10 minutes at a time at least once a day. When you put the diaper back on, use Aquaphor ointment to help heal and protect the skin.

I have 4 little ones and the best remidy that I used when little one's were in diapers was
Place desitin (not creamy) on baby's bottom and I put cornstarch with vitamine E and Alovera on top too prevent cream wiping off. Repeat as nescessay. Johnson & Johnson has a product out like this.
Also be sure the baby is not allergic to the diapers or wipes being used. One of mine was and had to result in wet cloths to clean bottom and cloth diapers.
Enjoy that little one. Hope this helps you out.

Have you tried aloe vera gel, it works wonders on all types of rashes. The second option is to whip some olive oil with cold water and put that on the effected area, when you change diapers.

the best method for prevention and control of nappy rash is the white of an egg,
whisk the white of the egg and rub it into the effected area, it not only cures the rash but prevents reoccurence.
the other very good cream for this is suda cream available from all good chemists, it soothes and cleans and its water base prevents reoccurence.
i have 5 children and i know what im talking about after many trials and tribulations.
good luck

If you can get the room warm enough, try open air exposure, by letting the babe lay with no diaper on..
A few minutes at a time may work wonders, though it will cause you tons of extra laundry. Good Luck.

aloe vera is great, but another remedy I would reccommend would be to get some paw paw ointment from your local health food store. It's all natural and works on absolutely everthing, it's brilliant.

The first is to make sure you are changing the diapers often! That's the biggest cause. The best remedy is a zinc Oxide cream, such as Penaten.

I swear by Aloe Vera. Cut the skin off with a sharp knife and smooth on. let dry for a bit and it will form whats looks (and works) like a second skin. Works wonders every time...;)
