You make it sound as if our Creator is only concerned about us obeying his orders. God also wants us to live life to its fullest so as long as we do good and live within prescribed limits. In a way, everything in life has limits, even the things we people invent and manufacture. A battery has a lifespan, so does an engine, and so on.
In the Quran, God says he has made human "vicegerant" in this world to improve and reform the world for all living beings. And to better assist us in achieving it, God has provided us with "Guidance." Wouldn't anyone want some hints from the One that has created us and the One that knows us best?
So a life without the full knowledge of the true purpose is just an utter waste.

The purpose of our lives is to exercise the freedom we have to decide who we want to be at any given moment, and work to become that!
We will learn along the way that our decisions have natural consequences and our images of who we want to be may be subject to change as we progress through the endless experiences of life. There is no need for morality in this, since it is purely an ongoing experience of what is practical and what is not, in accordance with what/ who we want to be. This Idea is based on the belief that life is endless and cannot be destroyed, only changed from one form to another in an infinite variety of possibilities. At its core is the belief in 100 percent freedom, and freedom does not have the threat of punishment for being exercised as is so common with most mainstream religious beliefs, nor is it partial freedom, implying that ,yes you're free, but only within prescribed limits. This is NOT freedom. As painful as it may be for some to accept, freedom MUST be 100% or it's not real. Mankind must be free to explore all the extremes of being, taking paths through the depths of depravity or the heights of virtue, as we commonly label these things. There can be no sin, no guilt, no need for repentance in this, just a never ending process of learning and adjustment to the idea of who we are.

Wouldn'nt being able to make a positive difference in each others life be enough purpose? I think so, be it family, friends, or strangers. If everyone did something good to make someone elses life better, eventually we would all have better lives. Its purpose enough for me. And good karma also.

There is a purpose for you being here but that is for you to seek out. Let's say some people are right and there is no GOD then you would not have nothing to lose for not believing. Now, I believe there is a GOD (one god in heaven) and say i am right. If you choose to not believe and don't seek out god's perfect will for your life and choose not to accept him as your lord and savior then you just lost everything. Jesus loves you friend, just seek him, begin to pray to him and ask him if he is there with you and if he is real and you will no for your self that he is real. GOD bless you!!

You really shouldn't care about this, just find a way to be happy.
I also think if god did exist he wouldn't care about you worshipping him... just live your own life like all the other living things in this world.

Those who believe in God and those who do not can all value doing the following:
Work like you don't need the money
Love like you've never been hurt
Dance like nobody's watching
Sing like nobody's listening
Live like this is heaven on earth
