The psychologist Abraham Maslow proposed that all humans have a 'hierarchy of needs'. This was arranged in a pyramid, with no. 1 being the most basic needs and no. 5 being self-actualisation/spiritual.

1. Physiological needs (breathing, regulation of body temperature, food and water, sleep, disposal of body waste, sex)

2. Safety needs (physical safety, security of employment, health, family and money)

3. Love/belonging (friendship, sexual intimacy, having a family)

4. Status/self-esteem (respect, recognition for achievemnents)

5. Spiritual needs (faith)

Not sure if this is what you meant, but hope it helps anyway.

If your looking for the very fundamental basic needs then these would be physiological needs. Anything that a living organism needs to survive, water, food, sleep, oxygen etc. Once these are met then it moves into the need of safety which includes a job, physical safety, good health etc. The next level of need is love/belonging and this includes having a family, frienship and sexual intimacy. Once achieved then they can go on to the level of self esteem (status) the need to be respected by others and having self respect for oneself. Finally comes self actualisation which is " the intrinsic growth of what is already in the organism, or more accurately, of what the organism is." (Maslow, 1949)
