"Do you think prostitution should be legal in the United States?"
The quick answer to your question is "Yes."
But since this is Law & Ethics, I should note that in the democratic republic of the United States, each state is sovereign and free to make laws of a certain nature that pertain to commercial activities within their own borders. And since currently one such state does allow legal prostitution, it already is legal in the United States. It's just certain states (all but one) that have laws against that type of commercial activity.
As far as the individual states go, it should be decriminalized, regulated, and most importantly taxed, much like any other commercial activity. The problem is that like any other commercial activity, not all owners will run the business appropriately or legally. While food establishments regulated by the board of health can be checked by inspecting the facilities, the business of sex for money is centered on the PROSTITUTE. So, let the women with AIDS, syphillis or gonorhea stay home when you get inspected. Then, married-- infected-- Johns who don't want to pursue legal action against the business (because it will tip off his wife that he's been to a whorehouse) are carrying around a communicable disease. And the disease spreads. And spreads. And pretty soon people are calling the U.S. Africa. Street vendors only add to the problem.
Men and women have a right to decide who they will have sex with and for what reasons. If that includes taking money for sex, that's their business. But when the relationship becomes a commercial activity, then society has a right to step in and ensure that the business isn't a threat to society. So, finding a regulatory schema for legal prostitution becomes the bigger part of the problem than just legalizing it.

Personally I think prostitution should be legal, but prostitution will never be legal in Untied States except in the State of Nevada, outside Vegas and Reno.

Absolutely, it should be decriminalized.
Prostitution is a moral issue based on Judeo Christian religion and is arguably a victimless crime.
It cannot be controlled by vice police, whose time would be better spent looking after violent and economic crimes.
Legalize prostitution, and put into effect checks and controls to assure health and safety concerns, and lets not forget to tax it as well.

Naw-that would take all the fun out of it.
LOL
No, seriously though, yes, it should absolutely be legal. That is the only way to ensure that these 'working women' are actually women, not little girls. That they have all their shots, and aren't carrying any STD's. It's the oldest proffession in the world. It'll be here forever-so why not regulate the industry?

By regulating something it can be made safer & the workers can get some sort of rights. How can that be a bad thing? The government is stupid - they could make so much money out of sex tax it's not funny.

yeah. its not like there isn't any prostitution here. if they legalize it, it would be easier to regulate and control it. and also whose to say what is prostitution. you buy a girl a movie ticket and a dinner so you're paying her for sex.

No, sex should be given away free -- or maybe for a hamburger and a movie. Actually, what's the difference? Why not make it legal?

Yes -- so long as they regulate it by making sure they have very regular checkups for diseases.
