Use detergent which is specially formulated for dark items, turn everything inside out, wash in cool water and remove from the dryer as soon as they are dry or just a little bit damp. When my jeans start to look sad, I buy a new pair & toss them in w/the old ones - the color runs a little & perks the old ones up.

The only way to know for sure they will not fade is to have them dry cleaned...No matter what detergent you use over time they will fade in the water...
I worked at a cleaners once and we had a few ladies that brought in black jeans and always had them dry cleaned and they never faded...Always looked brand new. Somethings can not be dry cleaned.....Those things I would hand wash and line dry....

Wash in cold water & air dry only. Do not put them in the dryer.
