I'm really nervous. I've been out of a job since October of 2005 and that job that i had I was with for more than 5 years. Therefore, it's been a real long time since I've had an interview. I already know a few questions they will probably ask, like: Do you have any questions for me? (towards the end of the interview); What are you going to be able to contribute to our company? (or something like that), etc. If I know a bunch of possible questions, I can practice how I'm going to answer, maybe even role-play with a friend, like they are the manager. Please help.

Congratulations on getting the interview. You can usually anticipate the common questions a interviewer may ask. For example, Why did you leave your last job? or Tell me a little about yourself or What is your greatest weakness?. For these questions, I am sure you can prepare for by being positive and giving reasonable explanations.

They may ask you other questions like how would your friends describe you. Please name three qualities. I got that question once...you should be able to name three positive qualities that would be applicable to the job. For example, dependable, good judge of character, and good team player.

Also, I have noticed that employers tend to ask you behavioral questions or questions that are based on your behavior in a hypothetical situation at work. For example, they may ask you how you would deal with a difficult customer? or how would you improve the current check process? It would vary depending on what kind of position you are applying for. For these questions, it is not so much the answer but the train of logical thinking they are looking for.

Best of luck.

One really important piece of advice...if they ask you why you left your previous job DO NOT start telling them how crappy the last job was, how you hated your boss, how they discriminated against you, blah, blah, blah ...you will just make YOURSELF look bad and they will look elsewhere..
