Then again I could be wrong. That is why I posed the question. Is it easier to buy friendship than respect?

It's most important to me to be respected first. I guess I feel like once someone respects me for who I am, for what I believe in, for what I hope to be someday, for what I stand up for... well, they might just realize that what they see in me that they respect, they actually like as well.

Sure...I have felt what it is like to be "liked" but not respected. I've even experienced being desired......but not respected. It totally and completely sucks. Because the person doesn't recognize your feelings or needs. You aren't respected....just used.

So without a doubt.....it is more important for me to be respected. If someone respects who I am, they might just figure out they like me as well.

Definitely respect first. Once they get to know me better, the like part comes into the equation.
They don't have to like me but they need to respect me.

It is most important for me to like and respect myself, with more than six billion people in the world it is fairly easy to find enough people who like and respect you to fill a lifetime.

Respect. For me it works this way: if someone does not respect me then they don't like me.

I think it is not possible to REALLY like someone you do not respect... so I would like because it assumes respect

I think, to be liked is more important
and person who likes , after some level,
also starts to respect.

ur position, status can force or insist to respect
but it's not necessary always, they will also
like u.......... from bottom of heart .
it's mere an arrogance simply, and they respect because they should , not inner feelings or love behind it.
